Avantium

Avantium is a leading renewable chemicals company that develops and commercializes next generation biobased plastics and chemicals. Following a spin-out from Royal Dutch Shell in 2000, Avantium was founded with the singular purpose of using advanced catalysis to transform the world of R&D. Our name is rooted in the Latin word for ‘forerunner’. Today, we define ourselves as a ‘creative accelerator’, a company specialized in groundbreaking innovations and technologies for catalytic R&D services and systems and, based on this knowledge, the creation of commercial Furanics. We do this through two distinct propositions: Catalysis and YXY.

With a team of outstanding experts and passion for science and innovation, we focus on the commercial launch of PEF while we continue our leadership position in Catalysis.
