AW Technology is the leading independent provider of technology to the fire detection and alarm industry. We are based in the United Kingdom, but our operations are global. In recent years we have developed into a worldwide business due to our commitment to providing quality technology solutions to the fire detection and alarm industry. Our main services include; research & development, technical consultancy, and the supply of cutting-edge specialist test equipment.

AW Technology possesses a wealth of experience in designing, building and supplying smoke and heat detector test tunnels. Our story began back in 1992, when we supplied our first simple tunnels. Since then we have become an innovator in our industry, and have pushed the boundaries with technology in airflow, aerosol control, aerosol measurement, detector interfacing, electronics and software. We have previously supplied bespoke tunnels for calibrating detectors at major manufacturers (e.g. Tyco, Rafiki Protection), and for testing in laboratories of major approvals bodies (e.g. BSI, LPCB).

AW Technology has a highly experienced multi-disciplinary engineering team, with well-equipped facilities based in the UK. We have a track record of developing technically and commercially successful products, and have been responsible for many innovations that are in widespread use today. For example; we developed the first optical/heat multisensor fire detectors, two wire addressable systems with fully configurable alarm sounders, and the first electronically controlled alarm bell. We are involved in standards formation as members of the BSI FSH/12 committees and as UK experts on CEN/TC72 working groups.

We also have experience in security detection and other sensing applications. Our main strengths lie in providing cutting edge solutions which combine intelligent signal processing with environmental sensing. We are constantly advancing the technology behind fire sensors and systems.
