As more electric vehicles (EVs) hit the road in long-distance and heavy-duty applications, charging these larger-capacity batteries within a reasonable time has become a significant challenge.
To help overcome this issue, the global association Charging Interface Initiative e.V. (CharIN) has been working with industry leaders, including Stäubli, on developing the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) standard to promote interoperability as the global standard for charging all types of commercial vehicles.
The Stäubli Megawatt Charging System (MCS) has been meticulously crafted in alignment with the CharIN task force guidelines, with a particular emphasis on easy handling and robustness.
It offers rapid and effortless charging, allowing drivers to manually charge their electric heavy-duty vehicles without relying on robots or supportingmachines.
Moreover, by incorporating larger conductor cross-sections in its cable assembly, in accordance with established standards, the MCS system facilitates faster charging times and enhances customer flexibility. This makes it an essential component in the push towards sustainable transportation.
