ElectroGreen® is a biotechnology-derived renewable resource alternative to petroleum-based synthetic chemicals. Merck is dedicated to providing users with Greener Alternative Products that conform to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product is environmentally friendly, with an emphasis on sustainability.
ElectroGreen®blends are bio-based (corn/beet-derived) safer alternatives to synthetic fossil-based solvents, with specifications customized for electronics and energy applications.

Application
Toluene is utilized as a cleaning solvent in the electronics industry as well as in ink formulations. The toluene substitute is a bio-based blend that can be used in place of toluene. Ink formulators are minimizing their use of harmful petroleum solvents by using the toluene substitute.
