Highly Dependable Rotary Limit Switch for Shaft Rotation

The Gemco 2000 and 2006 K Type Series Rotary Limit Switch from Ametek is designed for applications requiring ratios from 5:1 to 5333:1 and is available in four and two circuits. The 2006 Series is mainly used for elevating jack mechanisms, hoists, packaging machinery, conveyors, door operators, material handling equipment, and rotary operators where motion is expressed in shaft rotation.

The main purpose of the limit switch is to regulate the intermediate or end limits of a rotary or linear motion. The limit switch is frequently used as a safety device to safeguard against accidental damage to equipment.

The 1/2” input shaft drives a bronze gear which rotates the cam block. The cam block houses autonomously modifiable cams that actuate the precision type snap action switches. Each switch can be provided with either four or two switches. No minimum speed is stated because snap action contacts are used. Highest rated speed of the worm shaft is 1000 RPM and can be rotated clockwise or counterclockwise.

NEMA Type 7 and 9 (Hazardous Location) enclosures are engineered to match the requirements of the National Electrical Code for Class 1, Group D, and Class 2.
