IGA ECOsorp is an advanced gravimetric analyzer for carbon capture with dynamic gas and vapor sorption.
Benefits of IGA ECOsorp
Highly flexible partial pressure control from 100 ppm CO2to 100 %
Water and carbon dioxide co-adsorption under carbon capture conditions
Unparalleled flow regulation accuracy via barometric compensation technology
Introducing IGA ECOsorp
The IGA ECOsorp is a new benchtop analyzer designed for carbon capture studies, utilizing advanced sorption techniques. By integrating CO2 gas sorption and high-resolution gravimetric water sorption under dynamic flow conditions, the IGA ECOsorp provides a workable and reasonably priced way to evaluate the performance of potential carbon capture sorbents in a variety of pertinent circumstances.
With separate humidity management and CO2 partial pressures ranging from 0.01 to 100 %, carbon dioxide and water concentrations can be independently adjusted, enabling precise evaluation of material performance under Direct Air Capture (DAC) circumstances.
With an integrated heater that enables in-situ degassing and regeneration at temperatures as high as 350 °C, measurements are fully programmable and may be performed at temperatures between 5 and 85 °C.
Key Features
Advanced thermostat design for long-term stability
Combines DVS water sorption with high-resolution gas sorption
Complete automation for high-resolution isothermal and long-term cycling studies
Fully programmable for advanced method development
In-situ degassing and activation to 350 °C
The widest controllable CO2partial pressure range of any dynamic sorption analyzer
Unique barometric compensation technology for accurate CO2flow regulation
The IGA Method
Every stage of a gravimetric sorption measurement is conducted independently using the special IGA method developed by Hiden Isochema. The temperature and humidity are actively controlled at each stage, and the sample weight variations that occur are constantly recorded.
The kinetic weight data is analyzed in real-time, predicting and displaying the trend toward equilibrium on screen. Equilibration criteria are applied to objectively determine the time allowed before moving to the next pressure or temperature value. Each equilibrium point is plotted on an isotherm or isohume, and the full raw data is recorded as well.
Faster overall process times and consistent analysis with optimal measurement precision are made possible by the IGA ECOsorp.
Applications
The IGA ECOsorp is a specialized gravimetric analyzer designed for carbon capture applications. It enables the characterization of candidate sorbents under conditions relevant to carbon capture, utilization, and storage, with a particular focus on direct air capture (DAC) and post-combustion capture (PCC) scenarios.
