In many different industrial processes, temperature regulation and monitoring represent an important parameter. In fact, precise management of this critical parameter can guarantee safe operation, optimal process efficiency, and high-quality output.
Micro-Epsilon offers IR temperature sensors and pyrometers that are specifically developed for measuring surface temperatures ranging from –50 °C to 2200 °C. A body emits infrared radiation, which is used for the measurement. Since this measurement is a non-contact technology, the devices are able to perform in a wear-free manner and therefore can be reliably utilized in the long term.
Proven Technology
Micro-Epsilon has developed and produced infrared sensors that are considered as exclusive products, thanks to their robust construction, extended service life, and accurate measurement results. The infrared sensors are based on established technologies, which have been further advanced by Micro-Epsilon, and as a result, these devices also offer extremely reliable and accurate measurements even in aggressive environmental conditions.
A Product for Every Application
In addition, Micro-Epsilon provides an array of infrared pyrometers that feature spectral detection ranges optimized for numerous materials employed in a wide range of industries.
In the metal sector, the temperatures of production processes have to be monitored to guarantee high-quality finished products. Featuring a spectral range of 0.525 µm, the thermoMETER CTLaser M5 available from Micro-Epsilon has been specially developed to determine the temperatures of molten metals and extremely hot metal surfaces. Meanwhile, the thermoMETER CTLaser M1/M2 infrared thermometers can detect wavelengths between 1.0 and 1.6 µm, rendering them suitable for detecting the temperature of ceramics, metals, and metal oxides. For temperature measurement of low-temperature composite materials and metals, the thermoMETER CTLaser M3, with a spectral range of 2.3 µm, provides an ideal solution.
Micro-Epsilon offers a range of pyrometers optimized for temperature measurement of hot metal, glass and plastic production.
In the glass and plastics sectors, monitoring the temperatures all through the molding or extrusion process ensures that defects are reduced as much as possible. Micro-Epsilon’s infrared thermometers — the thermoMETER-CTP-7 and the thermoMETER-CTP-3 infrared thermometers — have extremely narrow-band spectral ranges (7.9 and 3.43 µm, respectively) that are suitable for thin plastic films. The thermoMETER CTLaserGLASS, with a spectral range of 5.2 µm, is perfect for measuring glass temperatures in a wide range of conditions, such as at the time of manufacturing glass containers, solar cells, or vehicle glass.
With a host of configurations to select from, Micro-Epsilon’s thermoMETER infrared thermometer range is relevant to nearly all fields of operations. Irrespective of the specific model selected, Micro-Epsilon infrared pyrometers are affordable and can be handled easily.
