Irisys was founded on the belief that advanced infrared technologies developed for military and aerospace could be applied to transform the effectiveness and viability of many everyday applications. The company has developed intelligent infrared array sensors with embedded software that provide sufficient spatial awareness to give a reliable indication of the size, number, position, direction, speed and temperature profile of objects in its field of view.

Irisys is collaborating with other manufacturers, safety organisations and government bodies on research into key projects ranging from new generation pedestrian crossings and the protection of vulnerable road users, through intelligent intruder surveillance and smart buildings, to automatic fall detection systems for the elderly.
