Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd is developing a disruptive, proprietary technology platform for the label-free analysis of single molecules. The technology has a broad range of potential applications including DNA sequencing, protein analysis for drug development or diagnostics, security & defence, environmental monitoring and much more.

They are using GridION system is composed of one or mode nodes, each one a networkable instrument including local high-performance electronics for real-time data analysis. A single node may be scaled to suit either a single benchtop user, a mid-range user, a large scientific installation and anything in between. The node contains high-performance electronics for local data processing in real time. The node is combined with a single-use cartridge that contains a sensor array chip and all the reagents required to run an experiment.
