Founded in 1981 as SDS-Relais, and incorporated into the Matsushita Electric Works global group in 1989 (now Panasonic Electric Works), the company was renamed Panasonic Electric Works UK Limited (PEWUK) in April 2005.

PEWUK has sales and technical support staff strategically located throughout the UK and Ireland. With its UK head office and warehouse in Milton Keynes, a branch office in Dublin, and associated companies throughout Europe, North America, Asia and Japan, PEWUK is a global leader in innovation, design, marketing and supply of Relays, Connectors, Switches, Automation components and systems and selected Lighting Controls. With the exception of certain optical sensors and related technologies, where the brand name is Sunx, PEWUK has standardized on the Panasonic brand name. On certain very small components the brand mark is “M”.
