SWINDON Silicon Systems are experts in ASIC design and volumesupply for analogue and mixed analogue/digital applications.

The company was formed in 1978 and since then has established an international reputation as a specialist in the design and supply of high performance integrated circuits. SWINDON became part of Sensata Technologies in April 2014.

Origins and Growth

From origins as a design house, the company has evolved and widened its scope over the years to include supply of ASICs and custom products and was one of the first fabless semiconductor companies.

Since the mid-1980's the company has realised an annual growth and with the acquisition by Madison Dearborn Patners (MDP) is now well placed to successfully service and support all areas of ASIC design and the supply of the final product. Approximately 80% of the sales revenue is derived from major international companies in Europe, the USA and the Far East.

The SWINDON partnership approach provides a complete integrated service from a design concept through to production supply for analogue and mixed mode ASICs. The design teams expertise is broad-based with an international reputation as specialists within the Mixed Mode, RF and high-speed design areas.

Using the fabless business model, approved partner companies are used to fabricate the silicon and package the devices. By utilising a wide variety of partner foundries, the most advanced semiconductor processes can be selected for maximum performance at minimal cost.
