Pipe joint testers areinstrumentation toolstypically used to test the joints between sections of pipes to ensure they will fit additional pipes or sections.

There are a few different ways to test pipe joints, and each has its own benefits and drawbacks.

Templates

The first method is to use a template.

A template is simply a piece of the same material as the pipe joint being tested.

The template is cut to the exact dimensions of the joint, and then the joint is assembled using the template in place of one of the pipe sections.

This method is accurate, but it can be time-consuming and expensive if a large number of joints need to be tested.
