Chromacity Lasers is a spin-out from Heriot-Watt University, one of the UK’s leading technical universities with a focus on photonics.

Our founding team has over 40 years’ experience in ultrafast lasers and fiber lasers. We have developed wavelength-tunable femtosecond lasers from the ultraviolet (400 nm) to the mid-infrared (> 6 µm) for industrial and scientific applications in fluorescence microscopy, gas spectroscopy, laser material processing, and semiconductor engineering.

Robust, patent-pending femtosecond fiber-laser technology underpins every product, delivering reliable, turn-key performance. But we don’t stop there: our embedded web server provides a uniquely simple control interface, allowing wireless operation from any laptop, tablet or smartphone.

Our focus is on manufacturing femtosecond lasers for life-sciences applications. In parallel with these core products, we work with systems manufacturers to provide custom OEM femtosecond and picosecond lasers optimized for specific applications in engineering and materials processing. We can provide combinations of pulse repetition rate, energy and wavelength not available from any other manufacturers.
