The MassaSonic® FlatPack® Sensors are low profile designed ultrasonic transmitter modules. They are optimized to offer continuous non-contact distance measurement of pastes, fluids, or uneven solid bulk materials in constrained working zones for application ranges from 1″ (25 mm) to 13′ (4 m). Two versions are available, and featured here is the short range model.
Adding sophisticated dual-transducer ultrasonic technology and processing algorithms, all FlatPack® Series Sensors offer precision measurement for factory automation, warehouse materials control, pipe and conveyor belt blockage or tank level applications. These Sensors perform extremely well in uneven surface or turbulent applications.
FlatPack® Sensors are also perfect to record in-pipe flow levels of renewable energy systems or wastewater pipes. The unique dual transducer design has a 15° system beam angle, so it's not likely that the maximum range capabilities will be greatly affected by solid materials with non-uniform surfaces, as occurs with single transducer sensors with narrow beam angles.
The FlatPack® Sensors are IP68 rated, RoHs and CE compliant. These field proven designs come in a PVC housing ideal for use in all-weather resistant moderate chemical environments from -40°C to 70°C. An incorporated mounting plate with pre-formed holes is provided for easy installation.
All models include continous temperature compensation to guarantee measurement accuracy and precise speed of sound calibration. Other user-friendly features include diagnostic and monitoring outputs, protection from over voltage, short circuits, and reverse polarity.
