Georgia Power serves 2.25 million customers in 155 of Georgia's 159 counties.

Georgia Power supports an array of environmental projects to make our air and water cleaner and our land more beautiful. The company actively promotes environmentally sound generation and funds research and development for advanced energy technologies.

Under the company's current environmental compliance strategy, Georgia Power expects to invest $2 billion over the next five years to further reduce emissions of nitrogen oxide (NOx) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) by installing scrubbers and additional selective catalytic reduction systems on its larger coal-fired generating units. These investments will be in addition to the nearly $1 billion the company has already invested since 1990, which resulted in a nearly 40% reduction in SO2 and NOx emissions.

We're also building and enhancing habitats for wildlife and are involved in numerous company-supported programs that educate the public about the environment and energy conservation.

We do all this while continuing to keep our rates well below the national average.
