Guided Wave Radar: Differentiating Between Actual Level and False Signals

Conventional guided-wave radars use device parameters that necessitate a number of alterations; by contrast, the LWT300 Guided Wave Radar series from ABB Analytical is designed to automatically achieve it.

The instrument incorporates LevelExpert™, an integrated intelligence that distinguishes between the actual level and other incorrect signals.

LWT310 for liquids applications

The LWT300 series includes the instruments LWT310 and LWT320. LWT310 comes in a flanged version and fits into a 19 mm (3/4 inch) NPT interface.

LWT320 for solids applications

The LWT320 can be fitted into a 38 mm (1.5 inches) NPT interface and comes in a flanged version. The LWT320 is suggested for solid applications due to its ability to endure a higher pull force.

The LevelExpert™, which has been developed with 20 years of industrial level measurement experience, enables the intelligent instrument to detect levels accurately, even in the most challenging conditions.

With the LevelExpert™, the need for baseline mapping and echo selection can be eliminated. This is because the LevelExpert™ can detect the correct level through the clutter. The expert is now within the guided-wave radar.

The LWT300 series of instruments can be used in a wide variety of applications. They can match the user’s specific needs for applications up to 200 °C (392 °F) and 200 bars (2900 psi).
