PROCAP 1 & 11: Capacitance Probe for Detecting the Presence or Absence of Material

By sensing minute alterations that are as low as 0.5 pF in capacitance, the PROCAP I and II standard capacitance probes are able to detect the absence or presence of material in contact with the probe. This is a result of the difference in the dielectric constant of the material versus the air.

They have simple calibration, provide interference free operation and fail-safe functionality, as well as being able to perform accurately even in sticky, dusty, or clinging materials.

A wide variety of extensions and probes, in addition to Class II hazardous location ratings, make these point-level capacitance probes ideal for many liquid, solid and slurry materials.

Applications

Concrete, mining, plastics, chemicals, food ingredients, coal/fly ash, pharmaceuticals, foundries, grain, feed, wood or paper processing and a number of other materials

Point level detection and process control for liquid, solid and slurry materials

Can be utilized in tanks, vessels, bins, chutes and conveyors

Mounting: 1-¼ ” NPT or ¾ ” NPT 316 SS standard; 1-¼ ” NPT 316 SS & sanitary flange optional

PROCAP I Ambient temperature range: -20 to +145 °F (-28 to +62 °C)

PROCAP II Ambient temperature range: -40 to +158 °F (-40 to +70 °C)

Hazardous Locations Enclosure Type: NEMA 4X, 5, 9 & 12

Pressure: 500 PSI

Housing Enclosure: Die cast aluminum, USDA approved powder coat finish

Approvals & Certifications: Listed for Class II, Groups E, F & G
