Rite-Hite first rose to prominence as a manufacturer of loading dock equipment, including dock levelers and vehicle restraint systems. One of the early breakthroughs was the development of theDOK-LOK® trailer restraintin 1980, a proprietary design that effectively prevents trailer separation and quickly gained widespread adoption worldwide.

In 1987, Rite-Hite establishedArbon Equipment Corporation, a subsidiary comprising over 700 dedicated employees serving customers in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Arbon offers expert consultation on a wide range of products and services, catering to customers with varying dock requirements, from single installations to large-scale operations.

In 1991, Rite-Hite acquired Frommelt Industries, significantly broadening its offering to include industrial power doors, cold storage doors, impact doors, dock seals and shelters, and a full complement of aftermarket products.

Rite-Hite’s longstanding reputation for safety, quality and innovation has been enhanced through the constant introduction of unique products for the industrial facility. At the loading dock, Rite-Hite has pioneered advancements such as thehydraulic dock leveler withSafe-T-Lip®; theGlobal Wheel-Lok™ wheel restraint; theDok-Guardian™; and theEclipse™ loading dock shelter.
