Stream Sensing provides real-time rheology. Rheology is a key product parameter for a wide range of household products - ranging from toothpaste and shampoo to paints and ketchup. It’s all about how a fluid flows – and at Stream Sensing we give our customers ground-breaking technology to measure it in real time.

As a leading-edge instrumentation company we measure this key product parameter – rheology – so manufacturing can respond immediately to production, when products are ready at the right quality and ready to pack.

Our ability to provide this stream of digital process information is at the heart of digital process automation in Industry 4.0.

Stream Sensing’s innovative technology has a strong heritage. It was patented in 2015 (granted in 2020) and developed by ITS (Industrial Tomography Systems) whose process tomography technology is able to see how fluids flow inside a pipe.

It was then developed and proven using through UK-government funded research involving Unilever, Johnson Matthey and UK universities.

Stream Sensing spun out of ITS in 2020, which in turn was spun out of the University of Manchester more than 20 years ago.
