Featuring all new electronics, the TorqSense RWT430/440 torque sensors have offered considerable performance gains in frequency response, resolution, limited sensor current consumption, and quicker digital data throughput. Furthermore, the transducer overload has been increased to 300%.
The digital TorqSense RWT430 and RWT440 series employs the most modern and non-contact TorqSense technology similar to the one employed in the RWT410/420 Series in three distinct body sizes for torque ranges from 1 to 13,000 Nm, with even above 13,000 Nm on demand. This series is different from others in that it may be more suitable for some applications to have the sensor unit separate from the electronics unit because of space and/or environmental restrictions.
The series provides a cost-effective, non-contact digital rotary torque measurement solution, using TorqSense Surface Acoustic Wave technology, ideal for torque monitoring, testing, or controlling drive mechanisms and specifically suitable for OEM applications.
Key Benefits
Low inertia — high-speed potential as electronics are not mounted on to the shaft
Minimal shaft length — high shaft stiffness
Non-contact/brushless measurement — simple RF couple for power/signal transmission
Mechanical safe overload of 300%
High bandwidth 10 kHz
Exceptional immunity to noise
High resolution (0.02%) and accuracy (0.25%)
Separate digital electronics
Functions both dynamically and statically — anti-clockwise and clockwise
Any full-scale torque can be defined within the standard range: 1 to 13,000 Nm
Sensors to track shaft temperature for enhanced accuracy and compensation
Lifetime warranty
LED status light
Advantaged of TorqSense RWT430 Series Transducers
Preset current or voltage analog outputs (one for speed or power and the other for torque) for interfacing with analog instrumentation
BIT self-diagnostics enables the manufacturer to be aware that the transducers’ speed ratings, torque, and calibration due date have not been surpassed
Sensors to track shaft temperature for enhanced accuracy and compensation
Simple “Sensor status” output pin
Advantages of TorqSense RWT440 Series Transducers
Digital outputs like CANbus, RS232, and USB for interfacing with advanced instrumentation and laptops
Digital input for setting up transducer through PC
2x user-selectable current or voltage analog outputs (one for torque and the other for speed, power, or peak torque) for interfacing with analog instrumentation
Transducer configuration software to enable the user to change transducer variables
BIT self-diagnostics for making users aware that data is reliable, and that the transducers’ torque, calibrated due date, and speed ratings have not been crossed
Simple “Sensor status” output pin
Capability to connect up to 10 transducers via USB
Sensors to track shaft temperature for enhanced compensation and accuracy
