Incorporating all new electronics, the TorqSense RWT410/420 torque sensors have yielded considerable performance gains in frequency response, resolution, more rapid digital data throughput, and decreased sensor current consumption.
In addition, transducer overload has been improved to 300%.
TorqSense Digital RWT410/420 Series torque transducers with built-in electronics come in three distinct body sizes for torque ranges of up to 13,000 Nm. The series uses TorqSense Surface Acoustic Wave technology, ideal for torque monitoring, controlling, or testing drive mechanisms to provide a less expensive, non-contact digital rotary torque measurement solution. The TorqSense RWT410/420 series transducers and their technology are particularly ideal for OEM applications.
Key Benefits
Low inertia — high-speed potential as electronics are not mounted to the shaft
Least shaft length — high shaft stiffness
High bandwidth 10 kHz
Non-contact/brushless measurement — simple RF couple for power/signal transmission
High resolution (0.02%) and accuracy (0.25%)
Mechanical safe overload of 300%
Built-in digital electronics
Outstanding immunity to noise
Any full-scale torque can be specified within the standard range: 1 to 13,000 Nm
Works both dynamically and statically — anti-clockwise and clockwise
Sensors to track shaft temperature for improved compensation and accuracy
Lifetime warranty
LED status light
Benefits Offered by TorqSense RWT410 Series Transducers
Fixed current or voltage analog outputs (one for speed or power and the other for torque) to interface with analog instrumentation
BIT self-diagnostics enables the manufacturer to know that the speed ratings, torque, and calibration due date of the transducers have not crossed the limits
Sensors for tracking shaft temperature for improved compensation and accuracy
Simple “Sensor status” output pin
Benefits Offered by TorqSense RWT420 Series Transducers
Digital input for setting up transducer through PC
Digital outputs such as CANbus, RS232, and USB to interface with state-of-the-art instrumentation and laptops
Transducer configuration software to enable the user to alter transducer variables
2x user-selectable current or voltage analog outputs (one for speed, power or peak torque and the other for torque) to interface with analog instrumentation
BIT self-diagnostics for making users aware that data is reliable, and also that the speed ratings, torque, and calibrated due date of the transducers have not been exceeded
Simple “Sensor status” output pin
Capability to connect up to 10 transducers via USB
Sensors for tracking shaft temperature for enhanced compensation and accuracy
