TriOS - Optical Sensors

TriOS has been the first company offering commercial hyperspectral sensors for environmental applications. Its popular RAMSES radiometers have become a new standard in marine optics, used by many scientists around the globe. Remote places like Arctic or Antarctic, coral reefs, moored in coastal seas and lakes, onboard cruise liners and ferries – these are locations where one can find RAMSES sensors in operation. Together with research partners from leading universities and research institutes, TriOS has invented many further new optical sensor technologies. One of the latest examples is the introduction of an innovative nano-coating used on our lenses to prevent bio-fouling: No need of extra power (like shutters would need), no poisoning of the environment (like copper or TBT would do).

TriOS offers the VIPER hyperspectral VIS photometer, which comes in four versions and has an optical path length of 50, 100, 150 and 250 mm, thus making it suitable for a number of applications in a range of water matrices. VIPER determines hyperspectral attenuation data in the range from 360 to 750 nm for colour measurements, satellite validation, water quality monitoring, and biogeochemical applications.
