Choose the Nuclei

True broadband capability with the X-Pulse system grants users the flexibility to select the nuclei required for their experiments, whether it is ¹H, ¹³C, ³¹P, Li, ²⁹Si, or even more exotic nuclei like ¹²⁹Xe, ¹¹B, or ⁵⁹Co. Simply choose the desired nucleus in the software and adjust the probe to operate under optimal conditions.

Maximizing the signal-to-noise ratio is crucial for the success of many benchtop NMR experiments. The X-Pulse boasts exceptional sensitivity, achieving 130:1 (broadband/Dual-X) and 200:1 (HF) for 1 % ethyl benzene, making successful outcomes more attainable. For nuclei with low receptivity, such as ¹³C or ²⁹Si, sensitivity is of utmost importance. The ability to tune and match for each specific nucleus allows users to achieve the maximum signal-to-noise ratio

Powerful

X-Pulse is an exceptionally versatile and powerful benchtop NMR instrument. Its design philosophy, which separates the magnet and electronics similar to high-field NMR systems, allows for the independent maximization of key system components' performance. This results in a system capable of acquiring data using a vast array of NMR pulse sequences.

It supports standard 1-dimensional and 2-dimensional proton and X-nuclei experiments, such as FID, DEPT, HSQC, and HMBC, as well as more complex sequences like gs-HSQC, PGSE, and solvent suppression, utilizing 3-axis pulsed field gradients and shaped pulses.

These advanced NMR techniques can be combined with other instrument capabilities, such as the flow cell for in-line reaction monitoring or the variable temperature system, enabling users to gain new insights into chemistry directly in their laboratory.

High Resolution

With X-Pulse, separating NMR peaks becomes easier and detecting lower concentrations is more achievable.

The instrument features a 60 MHz (1.4T) permanent magnet and utilizes advanced shimming technology to generate an exceptionally homogeneous field. This results in a resolution of less than 0.35 Hz at half-height and a line shape of 10 Hz at 0.55 %. These capabilities make it easier to identify and integrate peaks.

Additionally, the combination of shaped RF pulses and effective solvent suppression enables the analysis of challenging compounds, such as sugars and starches dissolved in water.

Benchtop Convenience

The magnetic field of the X-Pulse benchtop NMR system is generated using a uniquely designed permanent magnet, eliminating the need for cryogens and thereby significantly reducing operating costs and concerns about magnet quenching.

This innovative magnet design ensures extremely high stability, resulting in artefact-free experiments. With a compact benchtop footprint and minimal stray field (2G line within the magnet case), the X-Pulse can be installed in a variety of environments without requiring special facilities. This allows for NMR experiments to be conducted right next to other laboratory work or even adjacent to a process reactor, enhancing the understanding of reaction processes.

The magnet’s large thermal mass ensures stable, artefact-free data collection, even when flowing liquids at temperatures ranging from 10 °C to 75 °C through the flow cell. Additionally, the optional X-Pulse mobile workstation provides the flexibility to easily move the system as needed.

Easy Operation

The new SpinFlow benchtop NMR data acquisition software enhances the ease of use for the X-Pulse system. Predefined "quick" experiments enable the collection of routine data, such as basic 1-dimensional ¹H spectra or ¹³C DEPT arrays, with a single click.

Additionally, the user-defined experiments feature allows experienced users to save their own sequences and parameters, turning any setup into a single-click experiment. This ensures consistency and reduces the time required for data collection. Experiment queues can be easily built and saved, automating multiple acquisitions on a sample and efficiently repeating this process across many samples, thereby maximizing efficiency and minimizing errors.
